Hi, I’m Jay Gonsalves, the person you meet when you call for an estimate. I absolutely love wood flooring and have been in the business for 20+ years. In 2015 I decided to get my license and take on the title of owner/installer. I am present and working on every job. Over the years, I have held many positions with respected floor companies, and have acquired a wealth of information about flooring.

My previous employers include Chris Haltom HWF in Santa Cruz, CA. Ryan Meyer HWF in Carmel, CA. Kapriz HWF in Half Moon Bay, CA. All of my ex-employers support my continued success in the flooring industry.

Meet the Business Owner

My experience in hardwood flooring started over 20 years ago in Santa Cruz. I learned the basics of install, sanding & finishing, helped manage the business and office, and then moved into estimates and sales.

I eventually moved on to a small family owned business in Monterey that provided high-end luxury home flooring. Here is where I started to learn about the many custom options of flooring, finish, and installation methods. I was also introduced to European styling and craftsmanship; in the homes and in the floors we installed. Installing in Monterey was a daunting task and many hurdles were encountered.

While is Monterey, I decided to sell material through an online site I created. Hardwood Maniac was born. Eventually falling to the economic downturn in 2009.

I got back to flooring in 2014 and started working towards my license while managing a hardwood floor showroom in Half Moon Bay. For the past 9 years, I have been working on my own and specializing in flooring installation. Sometimes with the help of other flooring contractors in the area.
